The Denver Tennis Club teaching staff offers private lessons, group lessons, adult interclub team practices, quickstart tennis instruction, and junior team tennis practices. The staff is very experienced in the tennis teaching and playing profession and have been part of the Denver community for most of their careers. Dan Gray, Director of Tennis

Dan Gray has been the Director of Tennis since 1997 when he moved to the DTC from the Head Professional position at the Denver Country Club. He has worked at top tennis resorts including Topnotch at Stowe, Vermont, Palmas Del Mar in Puerto Rico, Boca Raton Resort and Club in Florida and Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort.
Dan has won Denver City Open and Denver State Open Doubles Titles in the 35, 40, and 45 age divisions. He has served on the boards of the USPTA Intermountain and the Colorado Tennis Association and is a Certified Professional I member of the United States Professional Tennis Association.

Mark Scruggs, Head Teaching Pro

Mark Scruggs has been with the Denver Tennis Club since 2001. He was Head Tennis Professional at the Jewish Community Center before joining the DTC. Mark has been amember of the Denver tennis community for over 30 years. Mark has won several age division singles and doubles titles in the Denver City Open and Colorado State Open. Mark directs the junior tennis academy at the DTC and enjoys teaching all levels of adults .

Mark Martinez Luna, Teaching Pro
Mark Luna has over 29 years of experience teaching at the high school and college levels in Colorado, Montana and Arizona. He served as the head tennis professional at Crestview Country Club in Wichita, Kansas and has been a teaching professional at several tennis centers in the Denver area. Mark has been a USPTA certified professional for 17 years and a USPTR pro for 7 years. During the summer, he teaches at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island. A DTC member since 1975, he played for the undefeated 16 year old Junior Tennis Team. He played number one singles at East High School and went on to play at Colorado State University. His father, Dan Luna, was a high school state champion and a champion at the University of Colorado.

Willie Dann, Teaching Pro - Private Lesson - $60 (Members Only)
Willie Dann has been ranked #1 in the nation in the 35-and-over division in both singles and doubles. In 2010 he won the USTA National Grass Court singles and Doubles Championships and the USTA National Indoor Doubles Championship. Willie has been a mainstream Colorado Tournament Player with several open division titles to his credit. He graduated from Rice University after playing 4 years of Division I tennis. Willie started teaching at the DTC in 2009 and shares his skills and knowledge in the growing junior program. -
Zachary Smith, Club Manager

Zachary brings a lifelong passion for tennis to his position, beginning his career as a youth on the Wash Park Courts. Formerly Assistant Tennis Director of the JCC Tennis Center, Zach was also the Assistant Tennis Pro for South Suburban and taught tennis for Denver Parks and Recreation. A Denver native, he played tennis for Manual High School and pursued college tennis at Fort Lewis. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Public Relations. Zach has managed the DTC for over four years.
